ANALISA…He whispers her name, and it echoes back to him on the wings of the night. She is so young, so alive. She radiates warmth and goodness, chasing the coldness from his being, banishing the loneliness from his soul. In four centuries of prowling, the shadows have brought him few pleasures, but the nearness of her soft lips, her warm throat, promise sweetness beyond imagining. She has wandered unchaperoned to the moonlit tomb where he takes refuge by day, little suspecting that with his eyes alone he can mesmerize her, compel her to do his bidding. Yet he will not take her life’s blood by force or trickery. He will have it as a gift, freely given, and in exchange, he will make her wildest dreams come true.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much I liked this book! I got it for free awhile back on Amazon for my Kindle and never picked it up until now. I don’t know why I waited so long though because it was a really great love story!

In the beginning I was a little apprehensive because it started out extremely cheesy and I wanted more background on the characters, but as the story moved along, I was pulled further and further into the story and learned more about each character. The story really unfolded itself in a spectacular way.

Amanda Ashley’s writing is so dark and powerful too. I truly felt the love between the two characters, and the passion ignited throughout the story. I wish it could have gone on longer or had an epilogue so I could see what happened next! Too bad this isn’t a series…

I recommend picking this up if you like love stories and vampires. A great read (even if the cover is really awful!).
