It’s all fun and parties until someone falls in love in this modern fairy tale from author Kate Evangelista.

Caleb desperately needs a fake girlfriend. Either he attends a series of parties for his father’s law firm with a pretty girl on his arm, or he gets shipped off to Yale to start a future he’s not ready for and isn’t sure he wants. And sadly, the last unattached girl in his social circle has just made the grievous mistake of falling in love with him. Fortunately, Didi, recently fired waitress and aspiring painter, is open to new experiences. As the summer ticks by in a whirl of lavish parties, there’s only one rule: They must not fall in love!

I must be in a swoon-worthy mood because (practically) the second I put down No Holding Back, I picked up No Love Allowed. I don’t really have much to say that’s different from my review of No Holding Back, to be quite honest.

Both stories were really cute and I breezed through each book within two days. No Love Allowed focuses on Caleb and Didi’s relationship that was a bit more complex than the one presented in No Holding Back (which doesn’t mean it took away from the enjoyment factor. Far from it!).

Is there a particular one that I liked better than the other? Not particularly. Both of them left me feeling sweet and sappy and now I’m even more excited for the third one (whose cover was just released yesterday!).

Check out Kate Evangelista’s short and sweet stories if you’re aching for a summer romance or an adorable contemporary read!

  1. Thank you for making this review! I received an ARC of Not Holding Back from the publisher and was hesitant to read it since I haven’t read the first book. Glad to hear it’s very swoony and a quick read!

    1. Yes I definitely recommend picking it up! Let me know if you do 🙂 I’d love to hear your thoughts!
