#sunathon

Hey everyone! A few months back a good friend of mine from the UK (hi Emma!) reached out to a bunch of us on Twitter asking if we would be interested in participating/kicking off her #sunathon reading marathon! Of course I said yes and here’s what it’s all about directly from Emma’s blog:

sunathonIn late April of 2014, I thought of how everyone on Twitter could come together and the only thing I thought of was: BOOKS. I asked my book blogging friends on Twitter in May to help with out with a secret project. On 26th June, we all announced it together on Twitter. I just want to clarify that this is my own idea and of course, readathons are quite popular and well known, but I’m really proud of my little project.

What is #sunathon?

From the 21st to the 27th July, readers from all around the world will be taking part in #sunathon.

For that particular week in the gorgeous sun (or rain in you’re in the UK), we’re going to read.

It doesn’t matter how much you read, as long as you make time for reading.

There are a lot of people around the world who are blind to the magical world books and it’s a shame. More of us should read.

I’ve decided to make it a full week: Monday-Sunday because a lot of book bloggers have full time jobs and they squeeze reading in between. I’ve made it longer, just for them.

Use #sunathon to follow book bloggers around the world talking about it. It doesn’t matter whether you’re in the UK, or America, or Malaysia (waves to Kev) or Germany – it’s about all of us coming together to read.

Make sure you follow each other on Twitter to cheer one another on.

Who knows maybe next year, we’ll be back? You can tweet along your book journey and at the end of it all, blog about what you’ve read and what you’re going to read next.

If you have any questions, please contact me using the form below or tweet me @EmmaIsWriting

I’ll see you on Monday 21st July for Day One of #sunathon

I for one can’t wait to get started and hope that you all will join in with us!
