The Many Heroines of YA Presentation & Booksigning

It’s been WAY too long since I’ve gone to any sort of author event or booksigning (the last time being back when I was in high school and went to the annual LA Time book festival). So, when I did some random Google searching one day and saw that my favorite indie bookstore here in Colorado did author events, I understandably freaked out. Tonight, I went to a panel that consisted of Julie Murphy, E.K. Johnston, Amy Tintera, Natalie C. Parker, and Michelle Krys, and let me tell ya…it was a blast. Myself and about 10 or 15 other people braved the Colorado rain and sat coozily in between the shelves to talk about YA, YA heroines, and basically really awesome book stuff. All of the authors were SUPER hilarious and I had a fun night of live Tweeting and giggling to myself.

Afterwards,FullSizeRender-2 as I was wandering around and talking to some people, I met some really interesting and awesome individuals who were also super enthused about YA (obvs) and we got to talk to the authors more closely.

I got my copy of Dumplin’ signed by Julie Murphy and practically stole all her swag when she wasn’t looking (Shhh don’t tell her). And we took a selfie together. It was pretty much the best night ever. I’ve been looking forward to this event all month so I was not disappointed.

I also met Katie from over at Katie’s Book Blog and freaked out. I have been a huge fan of her blog for like ever and she was a major inspiration to me when I first started blogging so when she handed me her business card I was like a kid on Christmas. My eyes lit up and I spluttered out how excitFullSizeRendered I was
to meet her (Sorry for being so awkward Katie).

Needless to say, I had a really wonderful time and can’t thank Tattered Cover enough for putting onthe event and for all the authors who showed up. You were all so interesting to listen to and provided some really great insight into your novels, the publishing world, and how funny you all are. Thanks!
