November Wrap Up/December TBR

This month was…just, wow.

Thesis Update

I finished!! Don’t get excited. I’ve written everything I need to write (I think), which came out to 51 pages so far. I’m going through some intense edits right now and when I get back to school in January (god bless, my 6 week winter break) I’ll be doing more edits with my professors/advisor and THEN I’ll be able to show it off to all of you! Thanks for all your continued support!

December #Bookstagram Challenge – #WinterWonderGram

The lovely Emily (hi!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and I are co-hosting a bookstagram challenge and we’d love it if you all joined in! You can find all the info on either of our Instagram pages, but I’ve also included the schedule below! We’ll have a giveaway at the end for everyone who participates as well!

Personal Stuff

I was accepted into the Peace Corps!!!….And declined it. I wrote a whole post about it here, which explains it all in-depth. It was a great application/interview experience, but sometimes, saying no is a lot harder than saying yes. Just don’t ask me what I’m doing after graduation because I’ll either cry or punch you in the face.

Other Posts

I wrote a piece about super cool feminist books you should read after being down about the election. Actually, you should just read them in general, because they’re awesome, but it’s broken down into various categories and sections for browsing ease.

My blog (yes, this one that you’re reading!) turned six years old in November! I wrote a piece about it that you can check out here, which talks about my journey and has a few of my very first Instagram pics and Tweets. Proceed with caution, laughter may follow.

Giveaways

Yay! I’ll be having a giveaway coming up NEXT WEEK (!!!!!!) and you’ll get ALL the extra points if you follow me on Twitter, Instagram, Youtube, Tumblr, this blog, and trust me, you’re going to really like this one.

November Wrap Up

Since this month involved extensive thesis writing, finals (of which I aced. Straight A’s again and Dean’s List, again!) I didn’t get to read as much as I had hoped:

11566956  10207239  28218973  28101540  10798416

Are You My Mother? by Alison Bechdel: Review (5/5 stars)

Linda McCartney: Life in Photographs by Linda McCartney: Mini-Review (5/5 stars)

Buffering by Hannah Hart: DNF (only because I was going through a lot in November and reading about someone else’s problems/life story was really stressing me out. I’ll try to get back to this one)

Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall: Review (5/5 stars, and one of my favorite reads of the year!)

The Statistical Probablility of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith: (5/5 stars. I know what you’re thinking, “Paige, chill on the 5 star ratings,” but this was just a really great month for reading and it was exactly what I needed considering how stressed out I was).

December TBR

Because I didn’t get to a lot of the one’s I wanted to last month, my TBR is pretty much staying the same:

13206760  13206828  13206900  22489107  25689074

20613470  18006496  28260587  23437156  22299763

What are you reading this month? Drop me a comment!

ahh I’m so excited for you to read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom!! I haven’t really decided my December tbr yet but I’m looking forward to free time associated with winter break. 🙂

    1. Woo free time! I hear nothing but good things about SOC so I’m excited to jump in and see what all the hype is about!

  3. I am so excited to see your finished thesis! I have been following your progress and I always get so excited when you post something on twitter about it haha.
I didn’t get that much read during this month either. Been working two jobs while I take a year off college and it’s been really stressful and time consuming.
I hope you get to read most of those books!! I still need to read Winter and the Six of Crows duology as well. I haven’t decided what my TBR looks like for this month yet, but I know I’ll be finishing up Of Fire and Stars and starting Shadow Fall

    1. Oh wow! Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me 😀

I hope you’re having a wonderful break from college! I’m definitely envious haha! How are you liking Of Fire and Stars? I hear mixed things about it.

  4. I’m glad you only read five books because that makes me feel better about averaging two to three books a month. 😂 Also, I have to get my hands on The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight because it looks cute as heck and goodness, you’re gonna turn me into a romantic, GEEZ!

    1. Have you read any of Jennifer E. Smith’s other books? You’ll become a complete romantic after reading all of them hehehe!

      1. I haven’t read any by her yet. I almost bought one a while ago, but got something else instead.

  5. I’m hoping to read Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom next month, too! I’ve had them on hold at the library for about a month now, but they STILL haven’t come in. They should be in soon, though!

  6. I’m going to be reading Six of Crows, Crooked Kingdoms and Winter. Well I hope to read those since I’m moving soon
